Spanish Air Force: security monitoring where the cloud cannot reach

Air-gapped networksDefence critical infrastructureLong-standing engagement

The challenge

Operations of the Spanish Air and Space Force demand the highest levels of confidentiality. The challenge: deploy centralised security monitoring across fully isolated (air-gapped) networks and systems — environments where cloud-connected commercial solutions are simply not viable — without giving up rapid, effective incident response. In parallel, ensure the continuity and evolution of applications critical to daily operations.

The solution

We designed and deployed a security monitoring (SIEM) capability built to operate autonomously in disconnected environments, with detection adapted to defence-sector threats and response procedures aligned to military operational requirements. A specialist Minery Report team was also embedded in the client's environment to take on the corrective and evolutionary maintenance of its management application ecosystem, modernising it without disrupting operations.

The results

  • Complete visibility of critical infrastructure that previously had no centralised security monitoring.
  • Faster detection and response to security incidents in classified operational environments.
  • Technological sovereignty — reduced dependency on proprietary vendors and lower licensing costs.
  • Operational continuity of mission-critical management applications, with progressive modernisation and fewer incidents.

This engagement explains who we are: our founders created the Air Force's Cybersecurity Directorate, and we continue to serve the institution as a client.
